Return & Exchange Policy

At The WorkRoom, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. Please review the following policy carefully before placing your order.

Fabric & Wallpaper Returns

Due to the custom, cut-to-order, and manufacturer-direct nature of our products, all fabric and wallpaper sales are final.

Returns, exchanges, or cancellations are not accepted except in cases of:

• Manufacturer defects
• Shipping damage
• Incorrect item shipped

Customers are responsible for reviewing all product specifications, quantities, colors, and measurements prior to placing an order.

Customer Ordering Responsibility

Customers are solely responsible for reviewing and confirming all product details before placing an order, including item selection, pattern, color, quantity, dimensions, material specifications, and suitability for their project. Customers should carefully review all product information and are encouraged to order samples prior to purchasing full quantities. The WorkRoom is not responsible for customer ordering errors, including but not limited to incorrect measurements, insufficient or excess quantities, installer miscalculations, selecting the wrong item, pattern, color, finish, or material, or changes in project requirements after an order has been placed. Returns, exchanges, refunds, credits, or cancellations will not be granted for customer ordering errors or dissatisfaction with a selected color, pattern, or product once the order has been processed.

Inspection Upon Receipt

Please inspect all merchandise immediately upon receipt and before cutting, fabrication, installation, or use.

Verify:

• Pattern and color
• Quantity received
• Product quality
• Shipping damage
• Order accuracy

Any visible defects, damage, shortages, or discrepancies must be reported within 30 days of delivery.

Use of the merchandise, cutting, fabrication, installation, or failure to report issues within 30 days constitutes acceptance of the goods.

No Returns After Cutting or Installation

Fabric, wallpaper, trims, wallcoverings, and other materials cannot be returned, exchanged, or credited once they have been:

• Cut
• Fabricated
• Altered
• Installed
• Processed in any manner

Custom-made, made-to-order, special-order, and production items cannot be cancelled or returned once production has begun.

Claims for Labor

CLAIMS FOR LABOR WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.

Customers must inspect all materials prior to cutting, fabrication, installation, or use.

Claims for labor, installation, removal, reinstallation, decorating, contractor fees, delays, loss of use, project expenses, or any consequential or incidental damages will not be accepted.

Once material has been cut, fabricated, installed, altered, or otherwise used, it is deemed accepted by the purchaser.

The WorkRoom's liability is strictly limited to the replacement of defective merchandise or refund of the purchase price, as determined by the manufacturer and applicable vendor policies.

No reimbursement will be provided for labor costs, installation expenses, contractor charges, shipping charges, or any third-party costs regardless of the nature of the claim.

Defective or Damaged Merchandise

If your order arrives damaged or defective, contact us within 30 days of delivery at sales@theworkroom.llc or 800-497-8042.

If approved by the manufacturer, we will provide return authorization instructions and, when applicable, a return shipping label.

Unauthorized returns will not be accepted.

Vendor-Specific Courtesy Return Programs

Although our products are generally final sale, certain manufacturers may occasionally authorize a return or exchange of non-defective merchandise as a one-time courtesy. All requests require advance approval and are subject to the manufacturer’s current policies. Approval is not guaranteed, and these programs may be modified or discontinued without notice.

York Wallcoverings

  • Prior return authorization is required.
  • Merchandise must consist of unopened, full rolls in its original condition.
  • A minimum of two rolls must be returned.
  • A 30% restocking fee applies.
  • Original outbound shipping and service charges are nonrefundable.
  • The customer is responsible for all return-shipping costs.

Schumacher Wallcoverings

  • Prior return authorization is required.
  • Merchandise must consist of unopened, full, uncut rolls in its original condition.
  • A 30% restocking fee applies.
  • Original outbound shipping and service charges are nonrefundable.
  • The customer is responsible for all return-shipping costs.

Phillip Jeffries

In limited circumstances, Phillip Jeffries may authorize an exchange of uncut, unopened, and boxed merchandise for products of equal or greater value.

  • Prior exchange authorization is required.
  • A 30% restocking fee applies.
  • Original outbound shipping and service charges are nonrefundable.
  • The customer is responsible for all return-shipping and replacement-shipping costs.
  • Any difference in price for a higher-value replacement must be paid before the exchange is processed.

All courtesy returns and exchanges remain subject to manufacturer inspection, approval, and current manufacturer policies. Merchandise returned without authorization will not be accepted or credited.

If a courtesy return is approved, all applicable restocking fees, shipping charges, service charges, and other nonrefundable amounts will be deducted. Any remaining eligible balance will be issued as store credit only. No refund will be made to the original payment method.

This courtesy policy does not limit any rights or remedies available under applicable law for merchandise that is defective, damaged in transit, or incorrectly supplied by the manufacturer. Customer ordering errors are not considered incorrectly supplied merchandise. A return resulting from a customer ordering error may be accepted only if approved under a vendor-specific courtesy return program and will be subject to all applicable restocking fees, shipping charges, and other costs.

Pillow Orders

Pillows are custom-made and are not returnable unless damaged during shipment.

Fabric samples are available prior to ordering and are strongly recommended.

Dye Lot Variations

Dye lot variations are normal and are not considered defects.

Customers agree to accept the current dye lot supplied by the manufacturer.

Additional quantities ordered later may not match previously shipped material.

Samples are intended only to assist with design selection and are not dye-lot specific.

For the most accurate color representation, we recommend ordering a sample or, where available, a cutting for approval (CFA). CFAs are available only for in-stock fabrics and Phillip Jeffries natural wallcoverings. Availability is not guaranteed and requires manufacturer approval.

Natural Fiber Variations

Natural fiber products may vary in color, texture, weave, and appearance.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Grasscloth
• Sisal
• Wood veneers
• Silk
• Cotton
• Wool
• Linen

These natural characteristics are expected and are not considered defects.

Natural wallcoverings may panel, seam, shade, and exhibit color variation both within and between dye lots.

Wallpaper Ordering Recommendations

Please consult a professional wallpaper installer before ordering.

Because pattern repeats and installation waste vary by project, additional material should always be ordered.

We cannot accept returns for overage or unused wallpaper resulting from over-ordering.

International Orders

All international sales are final.

Returns, exchanges, and cancellations are not accepted except in cases of verified shipping damage occurring while the item is shipped on your behalf by The WorkRoom or one of our brand partners.

When a customer selects or uses a freight/mail-forwarding service, receiving warehouse, or other third-party shipping provider, that provider is acting on the customer’s behalf. The WorkRoom’s responsibility ends once the merchandise is delivered to and accepted by that provider in good condition.

The WorkRoom is not responsible for any loss, damage, mishandling, repackaging, delay, or delivery issue that occurs after the third party accepts the shipment. All related claims must be submitted directly to the freight forwarder or shipping provider responsible for transporting the merchandise. Such issues are not eligible for a return, replacement, refund, or store credit from The WorkRoom.

European Union Customers

Fabric and wallpaper are supplied as cut-to-order and custom-made goods.

For customers in the European Union: Our fabrics and wallpapers that are cut to your specified measurements and are therefore custom-made goods exempt from the EU 14-day right of withdrawal under Article 16(c) of Directive 2011/83/EU. All sales remain final as stated above. This exemption applies to all cut-to-order fabric and wallpaper purchases. For any questions, please contact us at sales@theworkroom.llc."
