How to Place an Order

You can order through our website or by phone. Once your order is confirmed, you'll receive an email with your order number.

Shipping Details

  • In-Stock Orders: Ship directly from each brand as soon as possible. Delivery typically takes 5-7 business days.
  • Swatches/Samples: Sent via USPS First Class; delivery may take up to 10 business days. Expedited shipping is not available.
  • Backorders: You'll be notified of estimated ship dates and must approve before processing.

Tracking information will be provided, though orders may arrive before tracking updates are available.

Free for orders over $200.00 when shipped within the Continental U.S.

Orders under $200.00 shall incur a flat shipping fee of $29.99.

Payment & Cancellation

  • Your credit card is charged when your order is processed.
  • Orders can be canceled if they haven't shipped. Some items, such as made-to-order or approved backorders, cannot be canceled after processing.

The WorkRoom will notify all customers if a product is back-ordered and will only process the order upon approval by the customer of the back-order date. Because the order will ship directly from the manufacturer, The WorkRoom will process your payment at the time your order is placed.

Innovations and Pindler back-orders and all made to order specialty items cannot be cancelled once approved by the customer as a matter of the manufacturer's policy.

The WorkRoom will send updates on your order. In many cases your order may arrive prior to us receiving tracking from the manufacturer.

First Quality Merchandise

We guarantee that all products are first quality, shipped directly from the manufacturers to you or your workroom. This ensures authenticity and top quality for every order.

Return Policy

We strive to offer competitive prices, so we are unable to accept returns except for manufacturer defects or shipping damage. All sales are final, with no exceptions.

  • Dye Lot Variations: Differences in color due to dye lot variations are not considered defects and are not eligible for returns. Swatches may also differ slightly from the finished fabric or wallpaper.
  • Cut-to-Order Items: All fabrics and wallpapers are custom cut for your order and cannot be returned.
  • Color Expectations: Items cannot be returned if the color differs from your expectations. We strongly recommend ordering samples beforehand to ensure satisfaction.

Defective or Damaged Items:
If you receive defective or damaged fabric or wallpaper:

  1. Contact Us: Email us at sales@theworkroom.llc  or call 800-497-8042.
  2. Return Authorization (RMA): All returns require an RMA.
  3. Inspection: Ensure items are inspected before cutting or use. Returns are not accepted for cut or altered items.
  4. All damaged or defective items must be sent back using our instructions for a refund or exchange.
  5. Replacement or Refund: We will issue a return label for the defective item and ship a replacement promptly. If stock is unavailable, you can request a full refund.

Important Notes:

  • Claims must be made within 30 days of shipment to file an investigation if your package does not arrive as indicated on the tracking information.
  • Returns are not accepted for items shipped outside the U.S.
  • We have a long-standing policy that we are unable to recognize labor claims.  It is recommended that all product are inspected prior to installation and installation is stopped if any issues/concerns arise.

Order Cancellation Policy

We process orders quickly to ensure fast shipping, so we recommend canceling as soon as possible if you need to make a change. Regular Orders can be canceled before they ship.   Sample Orders can be cancelled if they have not been processed.  You can contact us via email at sales@theworkroom.llc  or call 800-497-8042 to request a cancellation.

If an order is cancelled before it is processed no charge will be applied to your credit card and refunded in full.   

However, once your order has been cut  to ship, cancellations are not possible. Please refer to our Return Policy for more details on how to handle returns for defective or damaged items.

Exceptions:
Certain items cannot be canceled once processed, including:

  • Innovations & Pindler products
  • Made-to-order or custom items
  • Approved backorders
  • Pillows

In rare cases, we may need to cancel an order due to:

  • Payment Issues – Orders may be canceled if there are unauthorized credit card transactions.

  • Billing & Shipping Info – Please ensure your details are accurate to avoid order delays.

  • Product Availability – Items may become unavailable or discontinued without notice.

  • Pricing Changes – Manufacturer prices may change without prior notice.

  • Order Minimums – If your order doesn’t meet vendor requirements, we’ll adjust it or offer the option to cancel.

  • Shipping Selection – Incorrect shipping options may require adjustments 

If we cancel your order, you will receive a full refund.

First-Time Orders

For security reasons, we ask that first-time orders be shipped to the billing address on the card or a verified corporate work address (no P.O. Boxes). To avoid delays, please ensure your billing address matches the one on your card statement and that the cardholder's name is correct. Also, double-check your contact details so we can reach you if needed.  

Why should I order a sample?

Due to variances in monitors, the colors and patterns displayed may vary slightly from the actual product. Physical samples should be ordered prior to specifying. If you do not like the actual item when it arrives, it is not returnable.  Note that samples are randomly cut and dye lots are not guaranteed, they are only a representation of the actual fabric or wallpaper. Due to the high demand for samples.  Only 1 sample allowed per colorway.  15 samples maximum per order for free shipping.  Please note: Swatch color may differ slightly from finished fabric due to variations in dye lot.  Also, the actual image colors you see on the screen might be different than the actual fabric or wallpaper due to variations in screens.  All images are supplied to us by each brand.

Pindler, Iksel and clearance items do not have samples due to vendor restrictions.

Units of Measure

Our items are sold in different units, depending on the product type:

  • Fabrics are sold by the yard.
  • Wallpapers may be sold by the roll, yard, panel, or unit depending on the packaging. Please see product description.

Minimum Orders

    • Fabric: 2-yard minimum and incremental yardage is cut by the one yard.  (some outlet items require 3 or 5 yards) Orders below the two-yard minimum are subject to a cutting fee.
    • Trim: 2-yard minimum and incremental yardage is cut by the one yard. Orders below the two-yard minimum are subject to a cutting fee. 
    • Wallpaper: 1 or 2 Roll Minimum (brand-specific minimums vary)
      • Ralph Lauren/Osborne & Little & Designer Guild Brands:  - 2 Rolls Minimum or 1 roll with $62.00 under minimum fee
    • Wallpaper Brand-Specific Minimums (yardage wallpapers):
      • Innovations (Wallpaper): 10–12 yards
      • Phillip Jeffries Wallpaper: 8, 12, 15, or 24 yards
      • Phillip Jeffries Vinyl: 15 yards (in 5-yard increments)
      • Schumacher & Borastapeter:   Wallpaper is priced by the yard but packaged as a roll.  Please note the minimum/increment requirements in the description and order accordingly.
      • Winfield Thybony varies on the item - see product description

Important Notes:

International Conversions:

  • 1 yard = 0.9144 meters
  • 36 inches = 0.9144 meters

What is a Cut of Approval (CFA)?

A Cutting for Approval (CFA) is a small sample taken from the actual material in your order, allowing you to confirm the dye lot and see exactly what you will receive. Because dye lots can vary between shipments, an exact match to showroom or sample book swatches cannot be guaranteed. This is especially true for natural fiber fabrics, as the intrinsic nature of these fibers means they do not absorb dye uniformly, resulting in subtle variations in color and texture. If a precise color match is essential, we recommend requesting a CFA for fabrics and Phillip Jeffries natural wallpapers.

Please note that actual yardage is not returnable if you are dissatisfied with the color.

Natural grasscloth wallpapers are crafted from handwoven grasses, reeds, and other plant fibers, giving them their rich texture and organic beauty. Because these materials are natural and hand-dyed, variations in color, texture, and weave are inherent to the product. Dye lots can differ noticeably, and even within the same lot, subtle shifts in tone may occur. These variations are not considered flaws, but rather an integral part of grasscloth’s unique charm, adding depth, character, and a truly one-of-a-kind look to every installation. If this may be a concern for your project, we highly recommend ordering a cutting for approval beforehand.  Please note, this service is only available for Phillip Jeffries grasscloth items.

How It Works:

  • CFA requests are available for in-stock fabrics only and are subject to the vendor’s approval and minimums.

  • To request a CFA, you must place your order by phone so we can reserve the required quantity.

  • We will set aside the material and send you a cutting from the actual stock.

  • Once you approve the cutting, your full order will be shipped.

  • CFAs are not available for Clarke & Clarke items, items that ship directly from the mill, or  most wallpapers (except for Phillip Jeffries' naturals).
  • There is no additional charge for CFA service; however, please allow a few extra days for processing, as this may delay shipment.

Important Notes on samples vs CFA's:

  • Dye lot variations are common—especially in fabrics with a high percentage of cotton, linen, or other natural fibers, as well as in grasscloth or sisal wallpapers. These variations are a natural characteristic of the material and are not considered defects; they are subject to our standard return policy.

  • For wallpaper, dye lot samples are not available. By purchasing, the buyer agrees to accept the current dye lot provided by the manufacturer.

  • If you under-order, we cannot guarantee additional quantities will match your original dye lot. We strongly recommend consulting a professional wallcovering installer to confirm your required yardage.

  • We do not accept returns or issue refunds for over-ordered quantities.

Swatches & Samples

Swatches for fabric, trims, and wallpapers can be purchased directly from each product page by clicking on the "SWATCH" in the drop down. Swatch sizes typically range from 4" x 4" to a full repeat and are cut randomly from each brand. Please note that we are unable to accommodate requests for specific swatch sizes.

  • Only one sample per pattern/colorway may be ordered at a time. Any duplicates will be removed and refunded.
  • Samples are priced at $6.00 each.
  • You can order up to 15 swatches per order with free shipping.  If you need to order more than 15 samples, SHIPGRATIS - Free shipping on samples orders only
  • Please note:  swatch color may differ slightly from finished fabric due to variations in dye lot.

Please note that some brands, such as Pindler and Iksel, do not offer samples due to their company policies. Iksel items are also special order only.  If you need to see a Pindler item, you may order one yard; standard shipping charges will apply.

Samples may also not be available for Schumacher faux leathers, outlet, and limited-stock items. If a sample isn’t available, it will be removed from your order and refunded.

Important Delivery Information

Please take note of the following:

  • You will own the products once payment is received in full and the items are delivered to you.
  • We are unable to redirect orders to a different address after they have been shipped.
  • Our vendors' carriers do not deliver to P.O. Boxes or use General Delivery.

Do you collect sales tax?

Yes, we are required by law to collect sales tax for shipments to states with state sales tax. States can now require online retailers and remote sellers to collect tax, even if they don’t have a physical presence in the state. Sales tax will be automatically calculated at checkout once you enter your shipping address.

Why Can't I See Images Online?

Our product database includes a large selection of fabric patterns, but with over 250,000 options, some images may be missing. For the best results, it's helpful if you know the vendor and pattern you're looking for.

Can You Get Discontinued Fabrics?

Fabrics & wallpapers may be discontinued by the vendor or mill, and if a pattern is out of stock, we may be unable to order it. However, we’re happy to check availability with the vendor. If a pattern is discontinued and out of stock, we recommend selecting an alternative.

Can’t Find the Pattern You're Looking For?

No worries! It might be a new release, discontinued design. or something we may have missed.   We're happy to help—just reach out to us at sales@theworkroom.llc . You can also try searching by pattern name or number using the magnifying glass icon in the top right corner.

Restrictions:

Please note that products from the Phillip Jeffries Digital Murals, Luxe Natural, Specialty Books and the Mash-Up program are unavailable for purchase on our site per manufacturer restrictions.  These items require purchase through an interior designer in your local zip code.  Additionally, Phillip Jeffries, Kravet and Lee Jofa brand items can only be shipped within the United States due to their company policies. We appreciate your understanding and are happy to assist with any questions you may have!

Ordering Wallpaper

Wallpapers are sold by the roll, double roll*, yard, or panel. Please review the product description carefully to ensure you're ordering the correct quantity. We also recommend consulting a professional wallpaper installer to help determine your needs (see below to find a professional).

*Note: A double roll typically contains one roll with an average width of 21 inches and a length of about 33 feet. This usually includes two shorter rolls of 16.5 feet each, depending on the product.

Hanging instructions are sent with every roll of wallpaper. We recommend your paper hanger reads these instructions carefully before starting to hang. 

Most wallpapers are hung with a non-solvent, pre-mixed, good quality tub paste, however please check the hanging instructions for exceptions.

Estimating Roll Quantity

We often get asked how many rolls to order. While we can provide general estimates, we strongly advise consulting a professional installer for an accurate count. They can measure your space and ensure you order the right amount.

  • US manufacturers generally ship double rolls, priced by the double roll.
  • European manufacturers typically ship long single rolls, equivalent to a US double roll.
  • Some brands like Innovations, Phillip Jeffries, Schumacher and Winfield Thybony price wallpaper by the yard, with specific minimums and increments.

How to Measure

Measure the height and width of the walls you want to cover. Include details like the length, width, and horizontal/vertical repeats, and share these with your installer. It's generally recommended to order 15-20% more than you think you'll need to account for waste and pattern matching.

Be mindful that wallpaper comes in dye lots, so if you need more later, the new batch may not match the original exactly. The larger the pattern, the more extra paper you may need to match repeats.

How Much Does a Roll Cover?

  • Double Roll: Covers approximately 56 square feet
  • Euro Roll: Covers approximately 56.38 square feet
