Manuel Canovas is a French textiles manufacturer founded in 1963 and acquired in 1998 by the London-based Colefax Group PLC, with its most representative brand Sibyl Colefax & John Fowler. The company’s headquarters are located in rue Saint-Honoré, in Paris, and has also offices in London and New York. The brand is recognized for its high-quality prints, weaves, and wallpapers that feature harmonic and vivid colors with a European style. Manuel has received a tribute at the Fashion Museum in Paris, showcasing a retrospective exhibition with the designer’s work for the last 30 years, proving why he has established as one of the preferred names in the international interiors design community. Manuel Canovas’s floral motifs are present in almost all of his collections, reflecting his deep passion towards botany and particularly tropical and exotic flowers. His inspiration is based also in Japanese and Indian cultures, and we can see these influences in some of his works. The innovations in design and production translate into top-of-the-line fabrics like damasks, embroideries, prints, silks, and toiles that are perfect for any commercial and residential projects.

Canovas designs are found most of the time on simple textiles like cotton fabrics, as he prefers the way his choice of colorways is better rendered with these types of fabrics. As a creator, Manuel states that the world luxury is most of the time associated with expensive items, but he sees luxury products as those which are of perfect design and made with the best quality, items that become timeless because of the intrinsic refinement and good taste.
