In the age-old battle between the austere and the lavish, sometimes more is just bolder, better, brighter. Often social media demands a craving for minimalism, organization, reflection, and barely seasoned soups.   Which could be summed as “less is a bore”.  Maximalism embraces decoration, pattern, color:  all sorts of things that are vibrant, fun, expressive, and pleasurable.  There’s also a certain magic to a space that’s visually rich and full. Walking into one of these spaces feels like you’ve been transported into another world.  There are no rules to maximalism, interiors should be fun and exciting and give you something to be happy about. 

Start in small doses if you are unsure where to start. Connect with a mix of colors, patterns and textures in the room, you should find a link between the patterns and pieces.   Pick out a color that speaks to you.  Tell a story, what you want to express with your décor.  Remember to stay true to yourself, pick colors you love and prints that make you happy.  Never feel pressured to buy into someone’s Instagram, just express yourself.  Be true to yourself and tell your own decor story.  The key to geting the look right is removing the fear of doing it wrong.
